Muzaffarnagar: Can a security guard get so miffed with a group of boys for trying to enter a premise that he will shoot a boy (who doesn’t even belong to that group) just because of his presence in front of the building?Apparently, yes.The city’s police have cracked the week-old murder case of a youth in the city. The security guard of the town’s FM Channel office had got miffed with a group of boys who were trying to trespass the office in the middle of the night. The guard had managed to shoo away the group.However, after some time, the guard spotted three boys in front of the office building. They were not the ones who had earlier tried trespassing the building. Their bike had developed some issue in front of the building. However, the guard mistook them for the first group and fired a shot at one of the boys. The victim, identified as Rishabh Singhal (20), succumbed to his bullet injuries in the hospital.Speaking with TOI, Superintendent of police (City), Omveer Singh said, "The accused, Amarjeet, has been sent to jail after producing him before the magistrate. Further investigations are underway into the matter."The incident happened late night on November 7 in New- Mandi police station area. After a week-long investigation, police arrested the guard and recovered a country-made gun from his possession. The guard had shot the boy with an illegal weapon.Station House Officer of the New Mandi police, Harisharan Sharma said", A case was registered under sections 307 (Attempt to murder), 302 (Murder), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke) of the Indian Penal Code.Meanwhile, the management of the radio station has claimed that they had not provided any arms to the guard and their guards only have sticks.
