MUZAFFARNAGAR: In a rather strange diktat, BJP MLA from Muzaffarnagar Kapil Dev Agarwal, asked his party workers to inscribe the names of the MLAs of their constituencies on their motorcycles to escape “harassment” from policemen. The legislator also told them if policemen stop their motorcycle and ask unnecessary questions, “you better warn them of consequences”. The MLA was addressing BJP’s Kamal Sandesh bike rally on Saturday as thousands of bike-borne cadres hit the roads in UP to make it a success.“Put names of your MLAs on bikes. And if, anyone tries to stop you, tell him that you are a dedicated BJP worker. Show him the needed documents. And if he still harasses you, inform him about the consequences,” Agarwal said. But, the leader did not elaborate what the consequences would be.When TOI contacted him about the statement, he said: “Yes, policemen often trouble BJP workers on the name of checking bike’s paper. So my statement was for such errant policemen. If they harass our workers, there will be consequences,” the MLA said.On Saturday, thousands of BJP workers hit road in Muzaffarnagar to participate in party’s Kamal Sandesh bike rally. BJP MP Sanjeev Balyan also attended the rally.
