SP-BSP alliance is ‘napaak gathbandhan’: UP urban development minister

Muzaffarnagar: State urban development minister Suresh Khanna on Sunday termed the alliance forged between the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party ( BSP ) as ‘napaak gathbandhan’(unholy alliance), and raised questions about their intention to fight the upcoming Lok Sabha elections together given that they have been at loggerheads for many years.“The alliance of Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party is a napaak gathbandhan (unholy alliance), and it will fail in the coming elections. BSP and SP members cannot even sit together or look each other in eye, how will they contest elections together?” said Suresh Khanna at an event in Muzaffarnagar Khanna said the SP- BSP alliance was formed ‘solely’ to capture powered and ‘have no ideological interests’.“This alliance has been formed only for coming into power in 2019. We will ensure that this ‘napak gathbandhan’ fails,” he added.The UP minister also attacked BSP supremo Mayawati, saying that the BJP had helped her in becoming the chief minister in the past and ‘now has backstabbed the saffron party’ by aligning with Akhilesh Yadav.“These people are ungrateful. BJP had helped Mayawati several times to become the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, but it seems that she has forgotten it,” he said.Speaking on the Ram temple issue, Khanna blamed Congress for creating hurdles in its construction in Ayodhya. We will not let that happen.
