Cop’s son shoots self with a country-made gun, dies

According to family members of the deceased, the incident happened when the victim was cleaning the country-made gun. Earlier, he was posted here at Amroha and family members were living here. Family members of the deceased told the cops that he was cleaning the gun while it went off accidently.According to police, firearm was recovered from the room. After some minutes, the family members heard the gunshot. Relatives of the deceased also claimed that the victim was under depression and would have voluntarily taken extreme step to end his life.

Bijnor: A class X student and son of a serving constable in Uttar Pradesh police shot himself using a country made gun at his residence in Amroha's Subodhnagar area on Friday morning. He succumbed to the bullet injuries on the spot.The deceased has been identified as Vishvadeep Siddhu. He was 17 years old. According to family members of the deceased, the incident happened when the victim was cleaning the country-made gun. Relatives of the deceased also claimed that the victim was under depression and would have voluntarily taken extreme step to end his life. Police investigation is underway.Amroha Dehat station house officer Rajeev Sharma, “Gyan Prakash, father of the deceased, is posted at Bareilly as constable driver. Earlier, he was posted here at Amroha and family members were living here. The deceased, Vishavadeep alias Mony was a student of class 10th here.”He had gone to take tuition classes in the city on Friday morning. When he returned home, he had a box in his hand. He went to the first floor. After some minutes, the family members heard the gunshot. They rushed to the room and found him dead. The bullet hit him in the stomach. Family members of the deceased told the cops that he was cleaning the gun while it went off accidently.According to police, firearm was recovered from the room. Besides, a substance used in rubbing the gun was also found lying on the floor. There are two theories on the demise of the student. First he might have been committed suicide as he was under stress or he might have shot himself accidently.Police told TOI that it was a country-made pistol (315 bore). Police are probing the matter and body of the deceased was sent to district hospital for autopsy.
