Missing for 4 days, 29-yr-old woman found dead in well

Bijnor: Deepa Sharma, a 29-year-old teacher who had been missing for the last three days was found dead in a well close to her house in Bijnor. She was depressed because of Ravi Kumar, who had deceived her.”Superintendent of police (rural), Vishvajeet Shrivastava said, “When police tried to contact the accused, he was also found missing from his house. Her parents had then filed a complaint against Kumar, a resident of Dhampur, saying he had lured her away. Kumar was subsequently booked under section 366 (Kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).However, the mystery intensified after the body was discovered. Police and the deceased’s family suspect it to be case of suicide as the woman had been depressed after her break-up with one Ravi Kumar.According to police, Sharma had left her house for a temple on January 29 before she went missing.

The post mortem report revealed drowning as the cause of death. The woman was a teacher at a private school and gave private coaching classes to children.Her father Ajay Sharma said, “My daughter had been upset for some time now and she was undergoing treatment at Delhi for that. She was depressed because of Ravi Kumar, who had deceived her.”Superintendent of police (rural), Vishvajeet Shrivastava said, “When police tried to contact the accused, he was also found missing from his house. The boy had had an affair with the girl for the last five years but the duo broke up some two years ago.”“Police was searching for the girl when her father informed cops that her body had been found in a well on his field. Prima facie, it seems like a case of suicide. A probe is on,” Shrivastava added.
