Muzaffarnagar: A prisoner lodged in Muzaffarnagar jail allegedly plotted the murder of a village pradhan and even hired contract killers to do the job for Rs 2 lakh. The plot was exposed when three people were recently arrested. A hunt is on to nab two others involved in the murder conspiracy.The trio revealed that Shahnazar, who has been lodged in Muzaffarnagar jail for the past few months, hired contract killers to kill the village pradhan with whom he had some political enmity.Police said Shahnazar’s cousin Shanawaz aided him to carry out the plan. Shanawaz, who is on the run now, hired four contract killers —Mukesh and Rohit of Faizabad, Sonu Gupta from Ghaziabad and Subham from Jaunpur — to kill Asif pradhan of Dadheru village. But the killers were nabbed before they could commit the crime. The four have a number of criminal cases against them at various police stations in Faizabad, Lucknow, Ambedkarnagar and Muzaffarnagar.According to SSP, Muzaffarnagar, Sudhir Kumar said, “The murder plan was hatched in jail by Shanazar’s cousin Shahnawaz. Now, we have launched further investigation of the matter.”
