Meerut: A 19-year-old youth, Aashi alias Shah Alam, was gunned down allegedly by criminals in Lisari Gate area on Sunday morning.According to the family of the victim, Aashi was at a shoe store in Kamla colony when he allegedly received a phone call from Huzaifa, following which he left. His body was recovered from Shyamnagar area.The deceased had sustained bullets in his chest and succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Motive of the murder is yet to be established. Sources in the department, however, claim that the incident was the fall out of an ongoing rivalry.The aggrieved family has given a written complaint to police naming Ujefa and Rehan as the suspect behind the incident."Several teams are trying to trace Ujefa and Rehan who are currently absconding. Their arrest will ascertain the motive of the murder," Akhilesh Narayan Singh, SP City said.
