First phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2017 begins amid tight security. Polling is taking place across 15 districts on 73 Constituencies. Polling is taking place on Noida, Dadri and Jevar.

First phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2017 begins amid tight security. Polling is taking place across 15 districts on 73 Constituencies.  Polling is taking place in Noida, Dadri and Jevar. Noida has a total of 4,28,259 electorates. Since early morning, voters were seen reaching their respective polling booths to cast their mandate. Noida has 2,49,289 male and 1,78,970 female voters. The major tussle is between BJP and Samajwadi Party (SP). BJP has fielded Home Minister Rajnath Singh`s son Pankaj Singh who is making his electoral debut in this crucial Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh. The SP has again fielded Sunil Choudhary, who had lost in 2012, and is hoping to wrest the seat by citing the development works in the area. Ravi Kant Mishra is contesting polls on BSP ticket.
