more-in A 16-year-old girl was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her house at Ozhalai village in Arcot Taluk police station limits on Tuesday. According to the police attached to Arcot Taluk station, Sangeetha was found dead by her step brother, Naveen Kumar, with froth in her mouth and ant bites on her hands. Sangeetha was living alone after her mother, Radha, died nearly three months ago. Radha was the second wife of Seetharaman and had separated from him several years ago. On coming to know about her situation, her step brother sent a relative to stay with her. She was studying in class XI in a nearby school in Ozhalai village. As the examination was over, her step brother had asked her to come and stay with them at Thalanur village near Arcot, police said. On Monday, Sangeetha told her brother that she had to go to school. He called her at 2 p.m. when she informed him that she will return by 4 p.m. However, the girl did not return home. On Tuesday morning, Naveen Kumar went to the house at Ozhalai village and found her dead. Based on a complaint from Naveen Kumar, Arcot Taluk police have registered a case of suspicious death. A special team has been formed to investigate into the girl’s death, police said.
