more-in A day after the mutilated body of a 20-year-old woman was found in a dry agricultural well at Kachirapalayam near Kallakurichi, a special team of the Villupuram police arrested four persons, including a juvenile, on charges of rape and murder. Three of the accused had sexually assaulted the victim while the juvenile had helped them in murdering her. The names of the three accused were given as Gunasekaran, 25, of Kamaraj Colony, Gomukhidasan, 22, and Rathinam, 24. The juvenile will be sent to a Government Observation Home, the police said. According to police, the victim was studying in a college in Kallakurichi. She got acquainted with Gunasekaran. On July 28, the accused had called up the victim and asked her to get ?20,000 in cash. Gunasekaran, who was inebriated, allegedly sexually assaulted the victim at an isolated place in Chettiyarkadu. His friends Gomukhidasan and Rathinam also sexually assaulted the victim. Strangulated to death When the victim resisted, the accused along with a juvenile strangled the victim with her dupatta and smashed her head with a stone. The accused later dumped the body in a dry agricultural well at Kachirapalayam. When the girl did not return home, her family lodged a missing complaint with the Kachirapalayam police. Meanwhile, the police received information about a mutilated body of a woman found in a dry agricultural well on Wednesday. The body was identified by the victim’s family and sent for post-mortem to the Government Medical College and Hospital at Mundiyambakkam.
