The rise in water level the Godavari has caused flooding in the Yanam region, an enclave of Puducherry. Vast area of paddy under cultivation has been inundated, causing huge loss to farmers in the tiny enclave. Minister for Health Malladi Krishna Rao, who represents Yanam, along with Secretary to Government H.P.S. The resulting flood has caused inundation in at least four villages. Mr. Rao said he had already apprised the Chief Minister on the impact of the flood.
