The officials imposed spot fine of ?250 to ?500 on about 13 shops. | Photo Credit: S_S_KUMARThe Oulgaret Municipality on Thursday launched a crackdown on shops and establishments and imposed spot fine for littering garbage and functioning without licence during an eviction drive on Vazhudavur Road. A team led by Malarkannan, Director of Local Administration, and Kandasamy, Commissioner of Oulgaret Municipality, took part in the drive and cleared the stretch from the new Collectorate to the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital. According to a municipal official, a few shops had dumped construction material, including sand and blue metals on the road obstructing the free flow of traffic while others were yet to get trade licences.
