‘Aid to sports bodies is LG’s preserve’

The ‘At Home’ reception marked the culmination of five-day celebrations of the 55th Police Raising Day, which began on October 1. Anantharaman, T. Djeamourthy, Chief Secretary Ashwani Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police Apoorva Gupta and Police personnel of different ranks attended the reception hosted by the DGP. It began with the Ceremonial Parade of the Puducherry Armed Police and India Reserve Battalion (IRBn) at the PAP grounds in Gorimedu. “We expect that the water table would improve and we are trying to make Puducherry, a water-rich Union Territory,” she said. Referring to the current rains, she said that the government machinery has been geared up to face any exigency.

Djeamourthy, Chief Secretary Ashwani Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police Apoorva Gupta and Police personnel of different ranks attended the reception hosted by the DGP. The ‘At Home’ reception marked the culmination of five-day celebrations of the 55th Police Raising Day, which began on October 1. It began with the Ceremonial Parade of the Puducherry Armed Police and India Reserve Battalion (IRBn) at the PAP grounds in Gorimedu. Various other events including medical camp for police personnel, inauguration of IRBn barracks, illumination of police stations, blood donation camp by the Home Guards, helmet awareness rally and screening of police related movies were also held as part of the Raising Day celebrations.
