The Communist Party of India (CPI) has criticised the Puducherry Government’s decision to present a Vote-on-Account instead of a full budget. The presentation of vote on account has paralysed administration with departments not getting sufficient funds. Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, CPI State secretary R. Viswanathan said the Congress was following the footsteps of the N.R.Congress government. The CPI also wanted the Government to adopt a resolution in the Assembly on Thursday calling upon the Centre to scrap the hydrocarbon project in Karaikal. The project would cause suffering to the ryots and the Karaikal Collector should also write to the Centre to drop the project.
