Mr. Saminathan said the nominated members would continue to take up issues concerning public irrespective of what the Congress believed. “Instead of waiting for the court verdict, the members are going to government offices introducing themselves as nominated members,” he said. Mr. Lakshminarayanan said the Speaker too had rejected their request for facilities in the Assembly stating that there was no communication from competent authorities on the appointment of nominated members. The Congress leader said even the Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi, who had administered the oath, had left the issue to the judiciary. He told reporters that when a public interest litigation challenging their appointment was pending in the High Court, the leaders were going to government offices introducing themselves as nominated MLAs.
