4 dengue deaths, 2,763 cases in Puducherry this year

No beds: Patients suffering from dengue waiting for their turn to get intravenous fluids at the Government General Hospital in Puducherry. | Photo Credit: T_SingaravelouThe Union Territory of Puducherry has reported nearly 2,767 dengue cases, of which four proved fatal, from January 1 till October 13, a visiting Central team was informed on Sunday. The team later visited Indira Gandhi Government General Hospital and Postgraduate Institute, Krishna Nagar, Shanthi Nagar, Lawspet and Periyar Nagar. “We have been briefed with statistics and action taken by the States. After the field visits, the team met Chief Minister V.Narayanasamy and Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi later in the day.
