Bedi embarks on a five-day tour to Karaikal

Ms. Bedi, in a WhatsApp message, said she would stay in Karaikal for five days to interact with government officials and public. “Objective is to connect the office of the Administrator with the grass-root rural communities and try and get a first hand understanding of the state of affairs of the region,” she said. The Lt. Governor said she would take up the complaints received by Raj Nivas from Karaikal region with the District Collector. She said Raj Nivas had received several complaints related to civic issues, power disruption, stray dog menace, unauthorised parking of fishing boats along the backwaters and contamination of water bodies. On reaching Karaikal on Monday, Ms. Bedi interacted with officials of the district administration and bank officials. She would start her tour of the region on Tuesday by visiting a water treatment plant, fishing harbour and interact with self-help group members of T.R. Pattinam.
