A 34-year-old man was murdered by a five-member gang at Udayarthoppu in Mudaliarpet here on Monday. According to police, Selvam was standing in front of his house when a gang attacked him with sharp weapons and fled the scene. Selvam is said to be the main accused in the murder of a PMK functionary in Sirkazhi in Nagapattinam district a few years ago. Police are on the lookout for the assailants, they said and added that previous enmity was suspected to be the motive behind the murder. The name of the victim was given as Selvam.
