Techie falls for admission con, loses ₹91,000

Pune: The Shivajinagar police are searching for a man who cheated a woman techie of Rs 91,000 by promising to help the latters daughter secure admission to an Army school in Mumbai. According to the complainant, the suspect, who is also a techie, claimed to have good contacts for getting the job done. Senior inspector Arvind Mane from the Shivajinagar police astation said, The suspect collected Rs 91,000 from the woman in April this year, but failed to deliver on the promise.The techie is a single parent and her family lives in Mumbai. Hence, she wanted to secure her daughters admission in the Army school in South Mumbai.He added, The suspect is the complainants former colleague.
