Two arrested for worker’s murder

Pune: Two construction workers were arrested on Tuesday on the charge of murdering one of their colleagues at a construction workers colony in Charholi when the latter refused to give them money to buy liquor on Monday evening.The Dighi police have identified the deceased as Ganesh Bhilala (33), hailing from Burhanpur district in Madhya Pradesh. A Dighi police team, led by assistant inspector Mangal Jogan, arrested the suspects — Lalu Dawar (33) and Bura Kirad (23) — before they could escape from the state.The suspects, Kirad and Dawar, wanted to consume liquor on Monday evening.They were forcing Bhilala to give them money to buy it, he said.He said when Bhilala refused to give them the money, the duo bludgeoned him with stone. Bhilala suffered injuries on head and back in the assault.
