Vet clinics must register with civic body

Pune: The civic body has made it mandatory for all veterinary clinics to be registered with the municipal corporation, after cases of unauthorised operation of such hubs surfaced.The proposal is at the primary stage. This registration will help streamline and monitor vet clinics, said Sarika Punde, head of PMCs veterinary department.According to PMC officials, they will cross-verify if the clinics are operating with the proper certifications or not.The license from Maharashtra State Veterinary Council (MSVC) is needed for operating a clinic. Many clinics are currently being run without these licenses.The civic administration already has the registration details of vet clinics that have sonography centres. But other clinics are not on record. A criminal offense was registered at Hadapsar after a pet died when he was treated by an unqualified vet doctor. The Authority had previously sought assistance from IIT Delhi to review the increased budget due to rising construction material prices. The meeting between Noida officials and the state bridge corporation focused on releasing pending bills and constructing new loops. The construction agency, UPSBCL, has submitted a bill of Rs 48 crore, of which only Rs 10 crore has been released. The construction of one side of the road is expected to be completed by February 2024 if funds are released on time.
