Fire in hospital hostel room, no one injured

Pune: A room in the womens hostel of a private hospital in Rasta Peth was destroyed in a fire on Thursday morning.Chief fire officer of the Pune fire brigade Devendra Potphode said the employees at the hospital had used as many as 18 fire extinguishers till the fire brigade reached the spot and doused the flames completely. No one was injured. The fire broke out around 8.40am in one of the rooms on the first floor of the three-storied womens hostel on the hospital premises.Three students in the room and other students in the hostel immediately vacated the building, another fire officer said.He said the firemen controlled the fire within 10 minutes.
