Pune: Two people, including a 12-year-old boy, were killed in separate accidents that took place near Chakan between Friday and Saturday. Separate cases have been registered with the Chakan and Mahalunge MIDC police. Sub-inspector Amol Dere from the Chakan police station said 12-year-old Rakesh Dhanave, a resident of Bhose village in Khed taluka, died while his father, Shrimant Dhanave (39), sustained injuries after their motorcycle was knocked down by a truck.We have arrested the truck driver on charge of causing death by negligence, Dere said.He added that the accident took place at 2.30pm on Saturday at Rase Phata when the father-son duo were driving towards Chakan. The truck hit the two-wheeler while trying to overtake, the officer said. In the second incident that occurred at Varale village near Chakan late on Friday, a 19-year-old motorcyclist lost his life. The victim has been identified as Karan Dongre of Dehugaon.
