Pune: The Chatushrungi police on Monday registered a case of impersonation and extortion against unknown people on the charge of posing as Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials and demanding Rs15 crore from Reshma Bhosale, the wife of NCP MLC Anil Bhosale.The Worli police in Mumbai on Saturday had registered the case. It was transferred to Pune city police for further probe.A formal FIR was registered with the Chatushrungi police.The caller, as per police, purportedly offered to resolve Bhosales case in exchange for Rs15 crore. A senior police officer said, Investigations are under way. We received the complaint from Mumbai police as Reshma Bhosale had received calls on a messaging application. She had reported the matter to ED officials at their office in Worli. Following this, ED officials and Reshma had approached Mumbai police with their complaint.As per police, Reshma received messages on October 23 with documents featuring a letterhead resembling that of the ED and an ID card. The results of forensic tests on the vial containing suspected snake venom are pending, and Elvish Yadav has not yet been summoned for questioning. Yadav, a social media influencer and winner of the reality show "Bigg Boss," has denied all allegations and is willing to cooperate with the investigation.Chennai police register six sexual abuse cases, arrests fiveIn a series of incidents in Chennai, several individuals, including juvenile girls, a juvenile boy, and women, were sexually abused and assaulted. The accused have been arrested in five of the cases. The incidents range from sexual assault on a young student to making sexual remarks and advances towards another student. Police are still searching for the juveniles involved in one case. The incidents highlight the need for increased safety measures and awareness in the city.
