Pune: President Droupadi Murmu will present the prestigious Presidents Colour to the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) on December 1 for the health services they have provided to the Indian armed forces over the last 75 years.The Presidents Colour, also known as Rashtrapati ka Nishaan, is the highest honour that can be bestowed upon any military unit.The event will be held at the Captain Devashish Sharma Kirti Chakra parade ground at AFMC in Wanowrie.One of the highlights of the ceremonial parade will be the lady medical officers, who will lead the four contingents of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) personnel serving in the Army, Navy and Air Force. The President will release a special cover and stamp and a commemorative coin on the occasion.A release issued by AFMC through the Defence PRO stated, The college addresses the healthcare of military personnel and their families.
