Pune: After a letter on Thursday from NCPs Ajit Pawar faction to the Lok Sabha speaker and the chairman of the Rajya Sabha seeking disqualification of Members of Parliament siding with the Sharad Pawar camp omitted the name of Shirur MP Amol Kolhe, he has clarified that he will remain with Pawar. But later in the day Kolhe met deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar in Mumbai, but said it was not about politics.I met Ajit Dada for some development projects in Shirur, my Lok Sabha constituency. During the MVA regime, as the deputy chief minister, he had supported many projects. He is now the guardian minister of Pune district. I discussed some ongoing projects and he has assured me of all possible help, Kolhe said. The letter also excluded Sharad Pawars and Supriya Sules names while seeking the disqualification of Shrinivas Patil, Mohammad Fazal and Rajya Sabha members Vandana Chavan and Fauzia Khan. The omission of Kolhes name led to speculations about his joining the Ajit Pawar camp. Kolhe said he was with the Sharad Pawar camp. In the past too, I have made it clear that I will remain with Sharad Pawars party. In my public appearances too, I have shared the stage with him, the MP said.Earlier this month, state president of the Ajit Pawar faction Sunil Tatkare had claimed that Kolhe supports their camp. On Tatkares claim, followed by the omission of his name from the disqualification request letter, Kolhe said, I do not know why but such steps by the other camp are creating confusion among supporters. I want to assure them that I am with Sharad Pawar and will be with him.An MLA from the Ajit Pawar camp, on the condition of anonymity, said, Our party has respect for Sharad Pawar saheb, hence the party decided to exclude his and Supriyas name. The party also felt that the supporters would not have liked their names to be mentioned in the letter. Therefore, to avoid an adverse reaction from the party workers, we are not pressing for their disqualification. We also published the following articles recentlySharad Pawar faction urges EC to take penal action against Ajit camp for allegedly filing fake affidavitsThe Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP urged the Election Commission to take penal action against the Ajit Pawar group for filing fake affidavits.
