Met Shah on seat sharing, not to complain: Ajit Pawar

Pune: Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar on Saturday said he met Union home minister Amit Shah recently in Delhi to discuss the seat-sharing issue for the upcoming elections and not to complain against anyone.Ajit Pawar made the comment in response to some reports that he was unhappy with some of his colleagues in the alliance and so he had gone to meet Shah to complain against them.Complaining against anyone is not my nature. While working for the state, we have to take everyone together and that is our tradition, he told reporters in the city.Replying to a question if any decision on seat-sharing for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections was taken during the meeting with Shah, Ajit Pawar said, No final decision has been taken yet. We had a brief discussion on the topic and we have decided to allot seats based on the elective merit of candidates.He said, At present, the assembly elections in some states are in the final phase. We will have detailed discussions thereafter on finalising the seat-sharing.Ajit Pawar slammed the opposition leaders for mocking his recent illness by calling it a political illness. While I was down with dengue, I saw some reports where opposition leaders called it a political illness. I want to tell them that I am not that weak to stay away from politics citing fake reasons like illness, he said.Ajit Pawar also expressed disappointment over the ongoing spat between Maratha activist Manoj Jarange and cabinet minister from his party, Chhagan Bhujbal. The Ajit Pawar group argued that the Sharad Pawar faction has been continuously making the same submissions to delay the proceedings. The dispute between the rival factions of the NCP over the party name and symbol was heard by the ECI. The case was adjourned to Friday.
