Pune: A 65-year-old woman on Sunday lodged a complaint against her brother and sister-in-law, accusing them of demanding Rs 1.5 crore to allow her to meet her grandchildren.An officer from the Talegaon Dabhade police said, She stated in her complaint that on her brothers request, her son married her brothers daughter, who is speech impaired. The couple has a son and a daughter, the officer said.He said the complainant used to give money to her brother to run his family.The woman told us that since a few months, her brother and his wife had started demanding more money from her, the officer said.The officer said the complainant stated that when she refused to give them more money, her brother took his daughter and grandchildren along with him to Mumbai.The woman told us that her brother had demanded Rs 1.5 crore from her to allow her to meet her grandchildren. He also threatened the complainant to file a domestic violence case against her and her son, the officer said.The woman told the police that recently, when her brother, daughter-in-law and grandchildren had come to Talegaon Dabhade to their relatives house, the victim had gone there to meet them. At that time, her brother had abused her and threatened her of dire consequences.Following this, she visited the police station and lodged a complaint. We are yet to make arrests.
