Two murder suspects on the runheld from UP

Pune: The arrest of two brothers from Raebarelli in Uttar Pradesh has helped the Kondhwa police in detecting a four-month-old murder case.The suspects — identified as Sarfaraz Shaikh (23) and Tanveer Shaikh (19) — were on the run after they attacked fabrication worker Danesh Shaikh (22) with a stick, leading to his death. The fight between them took place on September 4 over a trivial issue.Assistant inspector Rajesh Usgaonkar on Friday said, The Shaikh brothers had switched off their cellphones after the crime and their whereabouts were not known. A relative of the deceased shared with us their Raebarelli address (in Uttar Pradesh), but when a police team went there they were not found.He added, Later, we got information about their arrival from our source. We again reached their home for arresting them, but they ended up hiding in a farm. We then took help from our counterparts in Uttar Pradesh and carried out a search operation. They were taken into custody on November 22 and brought to Pune for further action.The duo were produced in court on Friday and have been remanded in 14-day judicial custody. The embezzlement case dates back to 2017 when the Ghazipur district tourism department reported the misappropriation of funds in the Kamakhya Dham construction project. The government had allocated Rs 8.17 crore for the project, which was awarded to PWD. The case was filed by the joint tourism director of Vindhyachal Division at Gahmar police station in Ghazipur.Uttar Pradesh: 3 arrested for beating youth, urinating on him in MeerutThree accused were arrested in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh for assaulting and humiliating a young man by urinating on him. The incident occurred on November 13 in the Jagriti Vihar locality. The victims father filed an FIR, and the main perpetrator, Ashish Malik, was taken into custody on Sunday. On Monday, three others, Avi Sharma, Rajan, and Mohit Thakur, were also arrested.
