Eight flights cancelled

Pune: Eight flights were cancelled from the city though the Chennai airport reopened for operations on Tuesday, a day after the deluge in Tamil Nadu capital.Some of the flights cancelled were to and from Chennai, Varanasi, Bengaluru and Visakhapatnam. Flights from Bengaluru to Chennai were cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. Domestic flights of Indigo, Air India, and SpiceJet were also diverted to KIA. Etihad Airways, Gulf Air, Fly Dubai, Air India, British Airways, and Lufthansa flights were diverted from Chennai to KIA. Passengers on diverted flights expressed disappointment and faced delays and cancellations at KIA.
