Four held with guns and live cartridges

Pune: Four men have been arrested by the crime branch of the Pimpri Chinchwad police for possessing four country-made pistols and 10 cartridges.As per initial investigation, the guns were bought from Madhya Pradesh. The crime branch team led by inspector Jitenrda Kadam made the arrests after receiving information from police constable Shivanand Swami.Deputy commissioner of police (crime) Swapna Gore said on November 30 the crime branch got information that two men would come to the PWD ground with firearms.We laid a trap and arrested Harish Bhinagar (34) and Ganesh Kotwal (30), she said.We recovered two country-made pistols and five cartridges from the duo. During interrogation they revealed that they had bought a total of four firearms from Madhya Pradesh around six months ago. The other two pistols and live cartridges were given to Shubham Pokharkar (30) and Arvind Kamble (42). He had purchased the illegal guns from Madhya Pradesh for Rs 30000-35000 each, intending to sell them at a higher price. However, Soodan neither arranged the job nor returned the money. The chargesheet was produced in court for judicial determination.
