Traffic diversions as Laxmi Road turns into walking plaza today

Pune: Laxmi Road will be closed for all vehicular movement between 11am and 5pm on Monday for Pedestrians Day.Movements of all vehicles between Seva Sadan Chowk, Umbrya Ganapati Chowk and Garud Ganapati Chowk will be temporarily closed. Traffic from Laxmi Road to Belbaug Chowk and Tilak Road will take a right turn from Seva Sadan Chowk. Vehicles plying between Kumthekar Road and Laxmi Road will have to ply straight from Chitale Corner and take a left turn, police said.Traffic on Laxmi Road between Ramanbaug Chowk and Umbrya Ganapati Chowk will be closed.Vehicles will have to travel from Kelkar Chowk and Tilak Road. Vehicular movement between Nimbalkar Talim Chowk and Kunte Chowk, passing from Laxmi Road, has been temporarily stopped. The closure will affect vehicles travelling from Baner Road to Parihar Chowk. The PMC will introduce route diversions based on the work progress to minimize inconvenience. Alternate roads have been made available and additional manpower will be deployed by the traffic police for smooth traffic flow.
