PCC Chief seeks safe return of woman from Oman

Chhattisgarh Congress chief Deepak Baij on Tuesday wrote to the External Affairs Minister calling for the safe return of a Chhattisgarh woman held hostage in Oman. In a letter to the Union Minister as well as Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Baij said Deepika Jogi of Bhilai city had gone to Muscat to work as a maid through a Kerala-based placement agency on May 30, 2023. Now, the woman has sent a video saying that she was being treated inhumanely and tortured. She was not being allowed to return home and that she has been asked to cough up Rs 3 lakh. The Congress leader urged the authorities to ensure prompt action in this regard.
