2-day training for cops on security, model code

Ranchi: The state police on Tuesday began a two-day training programme on poll process for officials of DSP and inspector rank at Jharkhand Armed Police headquarters here. Jharkhand Jaguar SP Rajeev Ranjan, who inaugurated the workshop, said, “Police personnel play a key important role in election process. The officials were also asked to respond immediately to complaints received through C-vigil app as well as set up check posts at various places to detect illegal distribution of liquor and money.” We have also explained the role of road opening parties and selection of routes in sensitive areas.”Assistant director of Jharkhand Police Academy, Abhay Kumar Jha said, “The first session focussed on the procedural guidelines laid by the election commission, including the duties of police officers after the model code of conduct is in place.
