Chatra: Deputy commissioner (DC) of Chatra Abu Imran on Friday directed several Durga puja committees to ensure proper arrangements in pandals to avoid any kind of mishap during the festive season. In the meeting held at the district collectorate, the DC said those spreading rumours through social media platforms will not be spared.Other than Imran, superintendent of police (SP) Rakesh Ranjan and additional collector Pawan Kumar Mandal was also present in the meeting.The DC urged all to co-operate with the district administration to ensure a peaceful puja. He said action will be taken against those who post fake news on the WhatsApp group.Imran also directed puja committees to make separate entrance and exit gates in the pandals for men and women. Keep fire extinguishers, first aid boxes besides installing CCTVs in the pandals. Use plastic-coated electric wires to avoid any mishap and deploy volunteers, he told the committee members.If you come across any rumour or any untoward incident, inform us immediately, Ranjan said.He also directed officials concerned to identify the dangerous points of the waterbodies and do proper barricading before immersion of the idols.Ranjan also directed to make large entrance and exits gates for the convenience of devotees. In case of any lapses or untoward incident, we will take action against the president and other members of the puja committee. Officials should ensure that the pushcarts present near pandals are not using stoves to cook anything.
