BJP names Bauri as its leader of oppn in assembly

Ranchi: BJP high command has appointed Amar Kumar Bauri, the Chandankyari MLA-cum-state president of partys SC Morcha, as the partys leader of opposition in the state assembly. The party has also named Mandu MLA J P Patel as the chief whip. Notably, the BJP didnt have a leader of opposition in the assembly since the coalition government was formed in 2019. While BJP had earlier named Dhanwar MLA Babulal Marandi for the post, it is still to be ratified by the speaker owing to the pending case of anti-defection against Marandi.
