Miscreants rob 50k from Jamtara petrol pump

Dumka: Three motorcyle-borne unidentified miscreants struck a petrol pump at Kalajhariya located on the Jamtara-Karmatand Road on Saturday evening and decamped with around Rs 50,000 after taking the owner and the employees hostage on gun point, police said.Jamtara sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Anand Jyoti Minj said, The three accused arrived at the petrol pump at about 7:30pm on Saturday on a motorcycle as customers. They pointed country-made pistols at the employees when the latter demanded money for the petrol filled in the bike. They took pump owner Lalmohan Singh hostage on gun point and looted Rs 50,000 from the cash box, before fleeing. The robbers also snatched the mobile phones of the hostages but threw these at some distance from the site while escaping, he added.Police said one of the robbers was wearing a helmet while the remaining two had covered their faces with clothes. The incident was captured in the CCTV cameras.
