Jamshedpur: The three-member panel constituted by the Jharkhand high court visited here on Sunday to inspect residential and commercial buildings in the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) limits.The objective of the random visit is to find out whether the Jharkhand Municipal Act rules have been followed and the Building Bylaws 2016 complied with or not.On Sunday, the panel inspected some buildings to find out if there is any deviation from the JNAC-approved building plans.Whether parking places in the buildings have been converted into commercial areas will also be examined by the panel.Panel members Raj Nandan Sahay, Sudarshan Shrivastava and Neeraj Pandey visited about a dozen places in Bistupur, Sakchi and other places in the JNAC command area. Our findings will be revealed before the court, said Sahay. The inspection will continue in the coming days, he added. The panel has to submit a report to the court within six weeks.Notably, the HC formed the panel of the lawyers after hearing a PIL filed by Rakesh Jha in 2019.Jha in his plea claimed that 1246 buildings in the JNAC command area, which were built after 1998, have been constructed in gross violation of the building bylaws and the Municipal Act rules.The bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen constituted the panel on September 30, 2023.Earlier, in 2011, the court had taken a suo moto cognizance of the buildings built on encroached government land besides buildings constructed by flouting Municipal Act rules.On February 28 and July 11, 2011, the court passed orders to all the districts to take action in this regard.We also published the following articles recentlyFire breaks out in Secunderabad building, no injuriesA fire broke out in a building in Secunderabad, India, due to an electrical short circuit.
