Three Rajasthan natives held with 30 quintal poppy pods

Chatra: Three inter-state smugglers, who were transporting 30 quintal of poppy pods in a truck to Rajasthan, were arrested from the Chatra-Gaya Road in a forest area near Ghangri village under the Vasisth Nagar police station limits on Sunday, police said.The arrested were identified as Mangi Lal of Falaudi, Bhagwan Ram of Jodhpur, and Dhola Ram of Badmer districts in Rajasthan.The vehicle, five smartphones, Rs 10,000 and the contraband were seized from the trio, they added.DSP (HQ) Kedar Ram on Monday said SP Rakesh Ranjan had received a tip-off about the gang. The SP formed a team that carried out a raid and nabbed the miscreants. The investigation revealed that the culprits hailed from Deeg district in Rajasthan, and they were apprehended with the help of local authorities. The trio confessed to creating explicit videos, sending threatening messages, and making extortion calls to the victim.Four including groom killed after car rams truck in PunjabA car carrying a wedding party crashed into a stationary truck on a highway in Punjab, India, resulting in the death of four people, including the groom. Two others were injured in the accident. The group was traveling from village Ojha Wali to village Baddowal when the incident occurred. The police are investigating the incident, and the injured have been taken to a hospital in Ludhiana. The bodies have been transported to Moga Civil Hospital.
