CM urges scientists to develop agri sector

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said on Saturday that his government was committed to taking agricultural development to new heights. With the contribution of scientists and entrepreneurs, our farmers will prosper. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always kept the development of the agriculture sector as his top priority. He urged scientists and students to develop a special strategy for the development of the agriculture sector and farmers. He was addressing the 38th foundation day programme of the Indira Gandhi Agricultural University in Raipur. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar presided over as chief guest. Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan and Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam were present. Sai added that the university has developed over 160 varieties of different crops and over 100 advanced agricultural technologies. On the occasion, the guests planted Maulshree saplings at the university premises.
