Ranchi Police arrested four Â persons involved in bus robbery

Ranchi Police arrested four persons on Sunday involved in bus robber case. Addressing a press meet Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Â Chandan Kumar Sinha said that there was a robbery in Shivam bus on January 16 in Nawadih of Dasham Fall police station area of Ranchi district. Ranchi Police investigation has revealed that the driver of the vegetable trader had planned the entire incident. The SIT team formed on the instructions of the SSP took action and arrested four criminals. The arrested criminals include Shahzan Ansari, Shamim Ansari, Zabiullah Mian alias Zabiullah and Iftekhar Alam alias Robert, he added. Sinha further said that the arrested criminals have prior criminal history. The police have recovered the looted Rs 11.61 lakh, 18 live bullets and many other items from the arrested criminals. Police investigation revealed that criminals from Lohardaga and Gumla had carried out the incident, he added. On January 16, an incident of robbery was committed in a bus coming from Kolkata to Ranchi. The criminals had looted Rs 18 lakh from three vegetable traders sitting in the bus at gunpoint. Shivam bus was coming from Kolkata to Ranchi on the night of 15 January. Then on the morning of 16th January, as soon as the bus reached Nawadih of Ranchi Tata Highway located in Dasham police station area of Ranchi. Similarly, the criminals sitting inside the bus took possession of the bus with the help of weapons. The criminals looted bags full of money from three vegetable traders sitting in the bus. After committing the robbery, all the criminals got off the bus and fled on foot. The criminals were continuously watching daily activity of the three vegetable traders. He had already boarded the bus as a passenger to commit the robbery. When they found a deserted place on Ranchi Tata Highway, they took control of the bus with the force of arms, looted money from the businessmen and ran away.
