In a remarkable display of strength and determination, Shilpa Toppo, Assistant General Manager (Electronics & Telecom) at Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), has emerged victorious in the Jharkhand Powerlifting Championship held in Ranchi. Despite being new to the sport, Toppo clinched two bronze medals in the Bench Press and Powerlifting categories, competing in the challenging 84 kg weight class. Toppos achievement is not just a personal triumph but also a testament to the spirit of perseverance and excellence fostered at SAIL/ Bokaro Steel Plant. As an engineer by profession, Toppos journey into powerlifting exemplifies the power of passion and dedication.    Notably Shilpa Toppo, a Management Trainee (Technical) of the 2007 batch at Bokaro Steel Plant, faced a life-altering moment in 2018 when a road accident left her with a broken right leg. Despite the physical and mental challenges, she refused to succumb to despair. With the support of her husband, Shilpa embarked on a journey of rehabilitation, finding strength through exercises and squats at Debi Prasad Chatterjees Gurukul.Determined to defy the odds, Shilpa ventured into powerlifting under Chatterjees guidance, despite having no prior experience in the sport. Within a short span, she made her mark, participating in district-level competitions in 2023. Despite setbacks, including an injury in November 2023, Shilpas resilience remained unshaken.In 2024, her perseverance bore fruit as she clinched two bronze medals .   Birendra Kumar Tiwari, new DIC of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), along with other senior officers, extends heartfelt congratulations to Shilpa Toppo on her remarkable achievement.
