Security beefed up for safe Holi in Jharkhand

In view of Holi, from the security point of view, about eight thousand additional forces have been deployed by the Police Headquarters in all the districts of the state. SPs of all the districts have also been alerted for security arrangements. Any serious incident has been asked to be reported to the Police Headquarters Control Room. Special security arrangements have been made in five districts of the state which are especially sensitive in the eyes of the police. Keeping in view the sensitivity there, special security arrangements have been made in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Hazaribagh, Giridih and Lohardaga. One company each of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been deployed in these five districts. Whereas one company RAP each has been deployed in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Giridih and Hazaribagh. Apart from this, tear gas squads have been deployed in Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Hazaribagh. Meanwhile, the Ranchi Police has made preparations to take action against those creating ruckus in the city on the occasion of Holi in Ranchi. To control the hooligans, a bike squad has been formed in Ranchi on the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Sinha. The administration is serious to ensure that there is no disturbance to peace during the festival of colours. It has been said that whoever tries to create disturbance during the festival will be dealt with strictly. Also, 80 police officers and cops on 40 bikes will be deployed in 8 police station areas of Ranchi city. City SP Rajkumar Mehta has sent 5 bike squads to each police station area with strict instructions. CCR DSP Ram Samad, Inspector Bimal Kindo and other police officers were present on the spot. Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha directed to maintain law and order on Holi. He held a meeting with officials regarding this. He said that the officials and police personnel who have been deputed should discharge their responsibilities properly. He said that often a situation of tension arises due to rumours. Therefore, resolve the rumors and take action as per rules. Apart from this, all the liquor shops in the district were asked to remain closed on the day of Holi. The Assistant Excise Commissioner was instructed to conduct raids against those selling illegal liquor. Here, sale of fake and adulterated sweets has also started in the market during Holi. Ranchi district administration is alert regarding this also. An investigation campaign is being run in urban areas against adulterated food items. According to the news received, the campaign will continue till Holi. As per the instructions of SDO Ranchi, Sadar, a team led by the Food Safety Officer inspected various hotels, restaurants and sweet shops of the city on 20, 21 and 22 March 2024. The team, along with the mobile food testing lab, tested 168 food samples in various sweet shops, restaurants etc. in three days and issued notices to 11 shops.
