20 Govt schools sans ramp in Palamu

  • | Friday | 26th April, 2024

Twenty government schools have been identified in Palamu where there is no ramp for the Divyangjan voters and polling personnel.    District education officer Durganand Jha said the school management committees have been directed to ensure that Divyangjan voters do not face any hardship in reaching the polling stations on the day of polling which is May 13 for the Palamu lok sabha seat.    Jha said some of the 20 schools are such which are merged with the functional ones only and thus these schools are just buildings where facilities are giving a miss.    ECI has asked for ramp and wheelchair at the polling booths for the Palamu lok sabha seat.    The state chief electoral officer K Ravi Kumar too has repeatedly asked for a ramp at the polling booths and wheelchair.    There are 2564 government schools which have merged with 192 schools in Palamu.
