Surat: Three buffaloes died after they were hit by Okha-Thiruvananthpuram Superfast Express near Kim railway station on Friday afternoon.Sources said that four stray buffaloes had ventured on the tracks in the afternoon when they were hit by the speeding train.The incident brought the train to a halt following the huge impact. However, after thorough inspection of the train engine and the coaches, the train was allowed to proceed. The signal cables on the tracks were damaged due to the impact.Sources said that the railway staff from Kim station immediately rushed to the spot after the train driver informed them about the accident. A case will be registered against the owner for letting loose the animals on the tracks," said a railway officer. "We are trying to trace the owner of the buffaloes.
