The Union petroleum minister is justifying the frequent price hike. This is a sign that the Centre is not concerned about the hardships faced by the people in the country. Centre is comparing the oil prices in foreign countries and purposefully ignoring the fact that it is central tax on petrol and diesel that has caused the heavy burden on the common man, he said.

Both state and central governments are equally responsible for the fuel price hike. If both governments are willing to do away with the tax, then it would be a relief. But, the governments are taxing the people more to get maximum revenue, added Chandy.
Mullappally Ramachandran said both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan are smart enough to exploit the common man and this was the reason why they were least bothered about the fuel price hike.

The state government is not sensing the public sentiment against fuel price hike, which will reflect in ensuing elections. Both Modi and Pinarayi Vijayan are batting for corporates, he claimed.
