Eroor police here have arrested a 24-year-old man on charges of raping a 16-year-old girl. The victim in the case is a relative of the accused.
Eroor police here have arrested a 24-year-old man on charges of raping a 16-year-old girl. The victim in the case is a relative of the accused.
The police said that the girl had stayed in the residence of the accused for a few months last year. It is during this period that she was sexually abused by the accused.
Recently her parents took her to a doctor after she complained of severe stomach pain and during the medical examination it was revealed that she was pregnant. Following this, the doctor informed the local police.
The accused was arrested by Eroor station house officer inspector S Sreejith.
The accused was booked under relevant sections of Pocso Act. He was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
