Trichy: Asking students to take challenges in their career to navigate themselves towards ocean of opportunities, M M Murugappan, executive chairman, Murugappa Group asked students to have a vision for self.He was speaking at the seventh annual convocation of the Indian Institute of Management ( IIM ), Trichy on Saturday. He asked students to lead the world by fighting against global issues. During his address, he gave three mantras of success - never underestimate anyone, learning to learn and building long-lasting relationships.For the first-time candidates were awarded degree of MBA as per the IIM Act. So far students were awarded diploma in Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) and the Post Graduate Programme in Business Management (PGPBM). A total of 169 candidates from postgraduate programme in management (PGPM) and 41 from post graduate programme in business management (PGPBM) were awarded with degrees.Jalaj Dani, chairman, board of governors, IIM-Trichy appreciated the government’s move to provide autonomy to the institute and mentioned that the autonomy would promote innovation in pedagogy.The director, IIM-Trichy, Bhimraya Metri said in his academic year 2018-2019 report that various corporates have trusted the institute’s pedagogy and as a result summer internship and final placement saw a tremendous growth.Deepesh Agarwal received chairpersons’ gold medal for securing first rank in of PGPM. Jagtap Sachin Suresh received directors’ gold medal for securing second rank in PGPM. Similarly, Jeyesh Jeykhar J S received chairman’s gold medal for securing first rank in PGPBM and KVV Raghavan received directors gold medal for securing second rank in PGPBM.
