Maghar ready to welcome PM, CM Yogi inspects venue

GORAKHPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday inspected the venue and reviewed preparations ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the mausoleum of Sufi saint Kabir in Maghar.PM Modi will also address a rally at Maghar on Thursday. A vacant house at Ghantaghar area collapsed due to the heavy downpour.The district magistrate’s office, municipal corporation office, railway station and transport office also have been affected. Over 1 lakh people would be able to sit in the main pandal,” said zonal president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dharmendra Singh.Assistant district magistrate (ADM) Ranvijai Singh said separate sitting arrangements have been made for women and the district administration would also provide potable drinking water to the visitors.

PM Modi will also fly to Maghar from Lucknow and will not visit Gorakhpur, said the information department.Gorakhnath temple officials said the CM will inaugurate Maharana Pratap Girls Inter College in Ramduttpur on Thursday around 3.30pm.Meanwhile, continuous downpour from Tuesday night till Wednesday morning led to cancellation of two flights to Delhi as Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath airport was closed for a day due to major waterlogging.Airport director BS Meena said rain water had come on to the runway.Around 60% of the houses in the city were logged with water.
