VARANASI: An infant became the reason for Kashi Vishwanath Temple authority to set up a breas-feeding centre, something which they had not factored in their Rs 600-crore project. It all happened when her mother -- a gynaeocologist from Noida -- was trying to feed her after puja on the KVT campus and a constable stopped her and forced her to leave the chair on which she was sitting. After coming to know about the incident, SSP Anand Kulkarni removed him from KVT security duty and ordered a circle officer to probe into the matter. A medical practitioner couple from Noida, along with other family members, had gone to KVT to offer prayer on Monday afternoon. While they were standing in queue for entering KVT premises, the infant started crying due to hunger. Finding an empty chair at the entrance point of Gyanvapi police control room, the mother sat on it and started feeding the baby. This irked the police constable deployed there and he asked the woman to leave the chair immediately. She requested him to give a few minutes to feed the baby, but he allegedly misbehaved with her and also made a video clip of her while feeding the baby. She protested his act and tried to make a complaint with a circle officer outside control room.According to the woman, the officials did not pay attention to her complaint after which the couple reached KVT office and reported the matter to chief executive officer Vishal Singh.Stunned by the incident, the CEO warned the constable and then summoned the KVT staff and asked to open one of the cabins on ground floor of the temple office to accommodate the gynaecologist for feeding her baby. The CEO said, "Taking a lesson from Monday's ncident we have decided to dedicate this cabin for lactating mothers. Now, this cabin has been designated as breastfeeding room and a officer Vaishali Sharma has been appointed to look after it.
